Acumen has developed a revolutionary means of slicing and dicing project data into groups of activities called ribbons. Unlike a ribbon activity within P6, Fuse filters activities based on a common attribute and rolls them up a into a single line while still retaining sequence of work. This process of slicing and dicing the data into groups allows the Fuse user to then, through the use of metrics, drill down into the schedule and pinpoint areas of concern within the specific group of activities. The options of grouping activities into ribbons are endless and include: WBS ribbons, contractor ribbons, resource ribbons, ribbons based on criticality, as well as ribbons based on user defined fields such as location.
Project Ribbon
In the project ribbon grouping, all activities are flattened into a single ribbon. This includes critical activities, noncritical activities, summaries, and milestones. Use this grouping to analyze the project as a whole or to compare multiple projects.
Critical and Non Critical Ribbons
This ribbon groups all critical activities into a single ribbon and all non-critical activities into a ribbon. Once ribbonized, metrics can be used to analyze just the critical activities or just the non-critical activities for factors such as duration, float, or even cost.
WBS Ribbons
Compare planning quality, cost, or execution performance of work breakdown structures by grouping activities based on their WBS and applying metrics to the new WBS ribbons.
Resource Ribbons
Compare workload or identify delays and overruns within specific resources.
